You're experiencing performance drops in Fortnite on your i7 8565U when launching the game. It seems your system's CPU throttles significantly under load, especially at higher settings. The issue might be related to power management or thermal throttling. Consider checking your power plan settings, ensuring your GPU is not overclocked unnecessarily, and verifying that your RAM is functioning properly. If the problem persists, running a stress test on your system could help identify bottlenecks.

The Asus Vivobook s14 maintains a temperature range of 69-72°C during gaming, which can lead to thermal throttling if the heat becomes excessive.

It appears the CPU is overheating, its temperature is excessive. Consider repasting it for better performance.

Varies by model and supplier, generally opening a laptop doesn't cancel the warranty, I recommend it regardless

You recently purchased a laptop and encountered the same problem previously. Are there alternative options you're considering?

It's due to overheating; you might attempt to clean the heat sink, as these components tend to accumulate dirt, but a refinishing is usually advised.

He seems worried about taking the laptop apart by opening it and taking out the heatsink, thinking it might not be useful.
