CPU scratches on the case
I remember one moment when I handed over my CPU for RMA. He completely lacked knowledge about processors. It was a regular old man, just working with his computer. His printer was broken, so I asked him to save the PDF and sent it to Gmail. He didn’t even realize that. I’m curious if he left the CPU on a wooden desk, with gold plates touching the surface behind him—not the top silver one. The CPU also got a bit rubbed, mostly when he tried to grip or move it. I wasn’t paying much attention back then; otherwise I’d have warned him to handle it properly. Do you think there might be scratches on the back of the gold surface? Could that be a concern? Or is it just normal wear? The desk was a standard wooden one. Sorry, my English isn’t great—it’s my second language.
Yes, it's an Intel/LGA chip. A minor scratch on the pads shouldn't harm it. I store my Core 2 Duos on a wooden surface between overclocking sessions and they function properly.
