Which stress test are you employing? If you're operating at the standard power settings in tools like Prime95, it may hit those limits and likely run near the base clock speed. The rated single core boost frequency is 4.2, but it won't reach that during maximum core usage in a stress scenario like Prime.

I anticipate a slightly higher performance than 3.6 in Cinebench, though I think R23 and 2024 might be more demanding than previous models, possibly due to CPU limits in those tasks. What temperatures are you observing? You might want to turn on PBO in BIOS to check if increased power settings push performance further, but you’re likely reaching around 4GHz with the default settings. As someone who uses a 3900x, I’ve seen about 4.15 GHz in Cinebench 2024 with PBO enabled, so a 3600 shouldn’t exceed that without extra tuning. The 3000 series didn’t reach such speeds. You’re definitely hitting at least 3.6GHz, which matches the base clock of the 3600, so it’s operating within expectations. Overall, everything appears to function correctly. Make sure to monitor temperatures and consider enabling PBO for a simple performance boost. Overclocking with Zen 2 isn’t worth it unless you’re looking for marginal gains—it would likely offer nothing meaningful. The main bottleneck was the split CCX architecture in Zen 2, and real clock speed improvements won’t compensate for that. RAM and FLCK adjustments are still important areas to explore.
