Hello everyone, everything on my New CyberPower built PC is working perfectly. The 12600K with 3070Ti and 16GB RAM (two 8GB) runs smoothly with 1TB NVMe storage and MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4. I'm playing Win 11 Home x64 alongside Prime 95 and FurMark, and everything runs without issues. FPS, clock speeds, and temperatures are all stable thanks to the air cooler and HW Monitor checks. When games start, especially demanding ones like Warzone or Fortnite, the CPU drops to 0.37 GHz with efficiency cores at full capacity and performance cores idle—temperatures stay normal. The game crashes occasionally or drops to very low FPS, but after it quits (either after a long wait or force-closing), the CPU quickly returns to around 4.7 GHz. All drivers and Windows are up to date, power plan is fine, and fast booting works. The only note is my BIOS is still at version 1.0. I need your advice before updating it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Using Windows 10 might resolve the issue, but it depends on the specific problem.

I’d definitely revise the bios. That shouldn’t cause any issues.

Check if your display is linked to the motherboard ports or the graphics card interface. Overloading the integrated graphics can cause your laptop to slow down significantly.

I've previously handled supply work on pre-builds, which has proven problematic due to warranty issues. I don't have any experience with CyberPower. It's challenging because I'm currently working remotely, and the client is far away—visiting them or collecting the device is now the only option. The frustration of IT support is real. If this were my situation, I'd have updated the BIOS sooner, but I need to get their approval first. I'm just trying to explore alternatives while waiting.

Mentioned that I was working remotely on it. This would be something I could try once we reach a stage requiring it. For now, I can’t test it, but I’ve received 11 and should confirm it works with CyberPower. It looks like it was sent in this condition, though benchmarks are fine so I’m not too surprised. Cheers!

//www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-throttlestop/ Open the Limit Reasons window. You may see PL1 or PL2 power limit throttling, or possibly BD PROCHOT throttling. Both can force the CPU to operate at its slowest speed. Share some photos and I’ll help you fix it. On many 12th Gen boards, BD PROCHOT is disabled by default, preventing it from being turned off. That’s why you need to return the motherboard to its original packaging and inform MSI they’re allowed to keep it.

I'll check that out, thanks. I'm a ROG Strix player, so I don't have much MSI experience. I'm working on this from afar, so I won't be able to fix it until tomorrow, but I'll return with a solution once it's resolved.
