I secured my CPU with the same settings and resolved most boot problems. There were several BSODs but it eventually restarted and worked well afterward. A few tests confirmed stability. Next time I won’t be able to post. The system repeatedly power cycled without errors. I flashed the BIOS easily and it now boots normally (currently). Is a full BIOS reflash needed when swapping CPUs? Not an upgrade. It uses the same chip (14900kf). Previously, I ran ASUS BIOS that handled Intel issues; I need to switch to the newer version with the official fix. It seems this shouldn’t have been necessary. Who knows if anyone else has similar experiences? I’m hoping everything stays okay and would appreciate any advice.

You can use BIOS Flashback without needing the CPU installed. Regarding your CPU problem: If you used a 14900KF before, it should work just fine again now. I don’t know exactly what caused the earlier issue without more details.

It wasn't enjoyable. I assumed resetting the CMOS would help. The same chip should have been fine. The boot process highlighted the new CPU and recommended BIOS settings, but Windows had problems during initial launches before stabilizing. It looked like an OS issue. I thought it would resolve after a few restarts and recovery attempts. I'll check again later to see how things are now.

It's possible your BIOS got damaged in some way and you corrected it during a reflash. This doesn't usually occur, but it can still happen.

Could be a worn-out mobile issue that occurs with premium 14th generation processors
