I previously owned a Ryzen 2600X that I boosted to 4.2ghz using ASRock BIOS on my ASRock B450M Pro4 board. After adjusting it, I opted for a more stable clock range instead of constant overclocking. When I reset the BIOS and tried various methods—including pulling the battery and using Ryzen Master—I still couldn’t bring the processor down to a lower frequency. Now I’m on a fresh Windows install after several upgrades, running a Ryzen 3600 with an ASUS B550M TUF motherboard. I’ve been monitoring fan speeds and temperatures via NZXT Cam, which consistently shows 4.2ghz. I’m confused because my ASUS BIOS seems to be functioning normally, and even with CPU-Z I see lower clock numbers. I tried the reliable CPU-Z tool and enabled Precision Boost, but it still reports 4241.40MHz. I’ve built several custom PCs without this problem and wonder if my cooler or BIOS settings are affecting it. Could there be an issue with the NZXT Kraken liquid cooler? Thanks for any help you can provide.
