Is there a more recent motherboard that supports 3200 DDR4 and an i9-10900k with memory slots on both CPU sides, similar to the Prime X299? You mentioned liking the RGB RAM design but feel you’d need an older board for that feature.
HEDT is available only on the quad channel version. It appears on X299, X399, TRX40 and other large socket boards. The 10900K works with LGA 1200 chipsets such as Z490, but these won't support quad channel.
Hello there. I haven’t come across any dual-channel boards featuring RAM on either side of the socket. Those are typically quad-channel or more advanced. With a 10900K, you won’t find any options like that.
Designed for quad channel setups, but currently not offered for consumer CPUs since they only support two memory channels.
there are no restrictions beyond Intel’s decisions that require both dual-channel RAM to be on the same side. It’s simpler to align them together for better VRM layout. Many boards, like those from EVGA, include two RAM slots on one side, while the other side is typically used for different components.
It appears even more impressive with genuine dual processors and sufficient RAM on each side
