Essentials: Processor – AMD A8-7600 Graphics – GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 Memory – Mobile – Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-S1 RAM – 2x4GB – HyperX Fury 1866 DDR3 – Power Supply – SilverStone Strider Essential 500w – Screen – 1920x1080
Gameplay notes: At low settings for Apex Legends with MSI Afterburner, both CPU and GPU hit full capacity. In Dota 2 at high difficulty, GPU usage drops to about half while CPU stays around 60-70%. I realize this setup is quite poor and intend to upgrade once things stabilize. Typically I maintain around 70fps in Dota 2 High settings, but performance plummets to roughly 35fps during tough fights even with limited CPU load.

Dota may struggle with the number of threads required. I understand the league is mainly single-threaded, which makes sense.

Programs usually rely on a specific number of threads or cores. Although many games offer dynamic capabilities, limits often appear, especially in older titles. This is why apex might utilize all available resources while Dota 2 cannot. Single-threaded performance becomes crucial because it ensures smoother operation and higher frame rates when the GPU can handle them.

You possess multiple processing units... Many games don't require full utilization of your hardware. Those claiming just 2 cores or threads will benefit from higher frequencies (MHz/GHz) for noticeable gains, while adding more cores offers no advantage.
