I need a fresh computer to match. I really dislike these upgrades.

Good luck with the RMA. Physical damage caused by the user may not be covered by the warranty. If you take a brand new car off the lot and hit a fire hydrant, will the dealer offer another vehicle under warranty? Would a standard pre-built machine be more suitable for you? You might not need to worry about any bothersome modifications.

If your CPU draws 400-500 W during gaming you have a serious problem. Maybe you got confused with the total system power draw? The 14900k (alone) can consume close to 200 W while gaming, which is very high for gaming workloads. In comparison my 9800X3D doesn't even reach 100 W while gaming, and I still use a high-end 360 mm AIO to cool it down.

9800x3d works fine without a 360mm AIO for cooling. I use the deepcool AN600 in an ITX case to keep it cool. Even under heavy load with R23+Furmark (the GPU is 9070), it stays below 94 degrees.

I've never mentioned it "needs" it, just wanted to emphasize how crucial cooling is and that simply adding any cooler to your CPU won't work, particularly with a 14900k. Also, the 9800X3D reduces throttling at 95 to avoid overheating. This keeps your system from exceeding 94, which can happen in real scenarios like shader compilation. I favor a beefe cooler because it's better than nothing. Plus, with a 360 mm radiator, the fans don't have to spin much to maintain cool temperatures, making it ideal for lower noise levels.
