I took out the plastic and applied thermal paste on the cooler. I also verified that the mounting pressure was consistent. The PC was assembled about two months ago and functioned well with normal temperatures until recently, when I noticed the fans running very high—around 80-90°C.
It seems like the device was either turned off or damaged somewhere inside.
