I've already run stress tests with the same problem, so it's not the game. I usually prefer having 32GB of RAM because I often have over 30 tabs in Chrome open while gaming, along with other moderately demanding programs. When I tested the game with just the game and Chrome open with around four tabs, the same issue appeared. The game can also consume a lot of memory, using more than 9GB of RAM on several occasions. If you think removing two RAM sticks might help, I could consider that option.

Could be that Intel Multicore Enhancement is active? It pushes your CPU to full speed, with all cores running at maximum turbo.

Sure, I've cranked it to a high speed of 4.4 ghz. That should be a good balance and won't overheat it.

You might have thought it was off. Turning it off could be a good idea. The Hyper 212 performs better than the regular cooler, but it doesn’t match the top-tier air coolers or the large 240mm water coolers.

Yep that was it. With turbo turned off no more overheating. I guess I'll buy a better cooler, thanks for the help!
