You're looking to boost your CPU performance. Since you're new to CPU overclocking, start by checking your current settings on the ASRock N68-VS3 UCC board. Then follow reliable guides for AMD Athlon II X2 250 models to adjust clock speeds safely.

I will caution you that the motherboard you have isn't designed for heavy overclocking. You may encounter heat and voltage problems. Apart from being an Athlon II, you should boost the hyper transport speed or front side bus as it was previously known in order to achieve overclocking. This adjustment speeds up all components including RAM. It's best to familiarize yourself with base clock, hyper transport, front side bus, and general overclocking techniques before attempting to overclock.
