Hello, your AMD Phenom II X4 965 runs at 3.705 GHz with a base clock of 3.4 GHz. The Gigabyte GA 790XT USB3 motherboard is solid, and your 750W PSU with 80+ Bronze should handle it well—no cooling worries. You’re in a good spot for overclocking safely.

consider a high-end power supply instead of a standard one. Overclocking the CPU will likely push it to around 3.8–3.9 GHz, so run a Prime95 test after adjusting the frequency. If the system crashes, increase voltage cautiously—keep it below 1.35 to avoid damage to both CPU and motherboard.

I raised the multiplier to ×19 (3.8Ghz). Running prime95 didn’t cause a crash—it produced a green screen instead. I attempted to boost the voltage, but it was already at 1.35.

However, upon checking CPU Z, it shows just 1.44. I then adjusted the voltage in the BIOS and it now reads 1.75.

It can exceed 1.35v without issues. The OP's AIO at 1.45v works well and won't damage the board. I advise staying below 1.50v with the existing cooling, as using chilled water or better is preferable for optimal performance. Outcomes depend on the specific configuration, as each chip behaves differently. I’d test it at 1.45v first to gauge its limits.

The value rises to 1.75 because the adjustment brings it closer to that specific target, likely due to a proportional change or calibration.

Do you have an offset or manual voltage setting? I usually choose manual because the value you assign stays consistent. Offset can cause issues quickly if you're not familiar with its operation.

Right now I'm not sure about the details, do you need any pictures?
