so i'm thinking about overclocking my i5 6600k and aiming for around 4.6ghz. but i was confused about the voltage requirements. if i increase the clock speed to 100mhz, what voltage change would be needed for that? and if i raise the speed from 3.50ghz to 4ghz and my system crashes because of insufficient voltage, how much should i adjust it? by a certain amount or more?
1.4V is considered the safe voltage, while 1.5V is the maximum allowed. You can overclock your CPU to 4.6Ghz, start with 1.4V, and gradually reduce the voltage by 0.05V each time until instability occurs. This method helps determine the ideal voltage setting. Also, would you think it's better to increase the voltage from the stock level by 0.5 when going to 4.6Ghz?
