VID_20221124_220314.mp4 So here's the deal. I may have fried my 5900X because I set the throttle temperature in the BIOS to 105 C with water cooling. So I tried it on another M-ATX motherboard that I have but I got the CPU LED blinking on that board as well as the original board after reseting the BIOS. The boards in question are the MSI X570 Tomahawk WiFi (the one I set the temp to 105 C) and MSI B550 Mortar WIFI M-ATX. So after I got the CPU LED blinking on the Mortar I went, "OK its probably fried", and bought a new 5800X 3D. Just two hours ago, prior to writing this I opened it and installed the 5800X 3D in the Tomahawk board - CPU LED BLINKING. "Hmm, I should try it on the Mortar, because I know that that board works." - CPU LED BLINKING. Both boards have their BIOS updated. I'm using a spare Deep Cool DW450 on the Mortar board like a test bench. I don't have any idea what the issue might be.
The 5800X3D was released after the majority of the 5000 series CPUs, though a board claiming support for the 5000 series might still need an additional update to accommodate the 5800X3D. The X570 Tomahawk needs BIOS 7C84v19, while the remaining 5000 series models function with version 7C84v17. The B550 Mortar requires BIOS 7C94v1B for the 5800X3D, whereas the rest of the 5000 series operates on version 7C94v18.
