I switched from an i7 2600k to an AMD FX 8350 and used a Gigabyte motherboard with the GA-78LMT USB 6.0 slot. If I upgrade to a better motherboard, will it boost my performance? Currently I’m stuck at around 20fps on Rust, with 2060 16GB RAM and a 600W PSU.

The processor isn't suitable for today's gaming, particularly demanding games like Rust. It's severely limiting performance. You should switch to a more recent system and install a faster CPU. How much are you willing to spend?

Usually, varying motherboards don't significantly impact performance.

Seems like during testing I should be achieving over 200.
