CPU LED on is glowing but I can't start up my computer after trying to speed it up.
I've done it about four or five times before. I used to leave it for ten seconds at a time until now. A few days ago, I tried using a screwdriver but decided that wires are better. My system is making me really confused right now...
I tried reseatting my RAM, but not yet the CPU. I'm going to try that though. I worry it won't fix things because this computer has run okay for over a year and a half. I need something urgent right now though, so I'll just try when I have time. Thanks a ton for your help!
Okay so I took my CPU out and put it back in, reset the CMOS settings, but the problem is still there. I'm really not sure which part is broken; honestly I might be wrong about the motherboard being the issue, even though that's what I suspect. Also, how could I accidentally damage the motherboard by using XMP on my ram? And if it was bricked or fried, would the fans still spin when the computer tries to turn on?
