I created my initial machine today but problems have begun to appear quickly. I've seen my Ryzen 3 3300X reaching up to 70% usage just for Windows updates and it's hitting 4.6GHz. My RAM is at 2133MHz. If anyone could assist with these issues, I'd be grateful. The specs are: CPU - AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 3.8 GHz Quad-Core, Motherboard - Gigabyte B450 AORUS M Micro ATX, AM4, Memory - G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200, Storage - PNY CS900 120 GB SSD, 2.5" HDD, Internal Drive - Seagate Barracuda 3.5", 7200RPM, Video Card - Asus GeForce GTX 970 4 GB STRIX, Case - Cooler Master N200 MicroATX, Power Supply - Corsair CX (2017) 650W, Bronze Certified ATX.
Are you sure this matters? Windows updates might harm CPUs that have fewer cores. All DDR4 chips will run at 2133MHz by default, even if you purchase 3800MHz modules—it will stick to that setting. You should check your BIOS for XMP/DOCP options (or search online): https://www.corsair.com/corsairmedia/sys...gGuide.pdf It’s also wise to set your FClock to about half of your RAM speed for Ryzen, which would be roughly 1600MHz in your situation.
