CPU cooling challenges I'm facing: My Ryzen 7 2700X and RX 5700 X are in an H500i case, but airflow is problematic. I swapped the front AIO fans for exhaust fans and the rear for intake fans, using an Aida 64 benchmark. The GPU temps hit 74°C, while the CPU stayed around 90°C under full load. After adjusting the fan curve, the CPU temps dropped to 80-83°C. Is this typical behavior for an AIO setup during heavy usage? Also, regarding the WhatsApp video at 3:57.44 PM.mp4.

These temperatures are perfectly acceptable for this scenario: GPU and CPU operating at full capacity. In everyday situations this won’t happen. The higher readings come from the fact that air heating up near the GPU before reaching the radiator reduces overall cooling efficiency. What caused the airflow problems?

the h500i dashboard is fully covered except for a tiny vertical slit on the side by intention so my AIO couldn’t draw much cold fresh air from the front

Uncertain about the accuracy or current usefulness (post-2018), but an article from guru3D mentions a 2700x showing a 10°C temperature shift. If true, this suggests the setup isn't optimal. More thorough testing should reduce warm air buildup. The radiator may receive less cool air but could perform better overall. Also, the H500 models have a front opening at the bottom of the case.

It's true. I just noticed I have the same configuration. My arrangement includes an exhaust fan on the rear and top, plus a radiator on the front, which helps keep things cool—usually around 50-55°C. The Kraken X62 is installed on my GPU (GTX 970). I'm not sure if this setup is perfect, but it functions well for me.

Your fan configuration seems adequate for typical performance. The slight temperature difference you mentioned is normal and doesn’t necessarily indicate a problem. Running all fans, including the cooler vents, helps maintain consistent cooling. The 10°C offset you’re considering is a reasonable adjustment to keep your CPU stable.

You might want to test it with your parts. I’m not sure how the heat from your CPU/GPU stacks up against mine (I5 4690 and GTX970). With all the exhaust fans, you’ll likely need to clear dust more often. How do you track the temperatures? I use the NZXT fan/rgb controller software (CAM).

I believe I’ll keep my existing cooling setup because 80-83°C is typical for me, and I won’t reach that temperature even when I’m not using the CPU at full capacity.

The CPU and GPU temperatures during typical operation are within normal ranges, generally stable and not exceeding safe limits.
