CPU is overheating ?
no, but you are welcome to close this thread.
Thanks, Colgeek 😊
When I submitted the issue using the COMPTIA problem-solving approach described, I noted that only CPU and GPU were mentioned while VRAM was omitted. The overheating during idle strongly indicates VRAM or MOSFETs are failing to dissipate heat properly. Even without visible pads from MSI, it’s likely they employed ultra-thin transparent pads or graphite sheets. Adding pads is essential—don’t just paste.
Certainly worth trying. I mentioned looking into outlines on the heatsink earlier to gather some hints about the original setup.
I've applied a very thin layer of paste, and it now functions as a charm, provided I have extra cooling on and it maintains 60-75 even during gaming, without cooling, the temperature remains high, but it's still acceptable. I did some research and found this laptop has a poor cooling system (just one fan), but I'm satisfied. I'll try pads as soon as possible.
