I just created this account, but that’s not the main point. I enjoy playing Fortnite and other games, though I’m struggling because my CPU usage stays around 20 to 30 across most titles. When I play Fortnite, I can’t maintain a stable 30 FPS on low settings. With dx11 dx12, I can’t even launch a creative match—performance is worse than with dx11. A quick note: I can’t play Minecraft without OptiFine, and it causes many lag spikes that make it unplayable. I bought a used AMD Ryzen 5 3600 to check for improvements, seeing a benchmark video that showed good results on my system. My current setup has an AMD RX 580 GPU, a new AMD Ryzen 5 4500 CPU, and 8GB of RAM. If needed, a 550-watt PSU is recommended.

What version are you using? Are you running the newest drivers and BIOS updates? Is Windows 10 or 11 installed? Was the 580 model obtained through mining or bought secondhand? This setup should work perfectly for playing Minecraft.

I usually use 720 sometimes and 1080 often. The latest drivers are installed, but I’m not sure if my board supports them. It’s an Asrock A520M HDV running Windows 11. I bought it brand new from a nearby microcenter for around $150 to $250. I built the system in December and finished it in January.

Avoid using 720p on this device; it pushes the bottleneck. See the chipset drivers for your motherboard here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/...t-am4/a520. Your BIOS link is also provided: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/A520M-HDV/#BIOS. If your BIOS is older than 2.20, consider updating it using CPU-Z.

I'll set them up later since I'm occupied right now. I'll let you know once I've tried it.

Cpu-z scans all components on the motherboard. It also displays the BIOS version installed. Obtain the latest BIOS updates via his provided link, save them to a properly formatted fat32 USB drive, and boot from it. Follow the motherboard manual and the official link for guidance.

I completed the updates last night, but I'm having trouble joining Fortnite and checking if the issue is resolved.
