It's a 120mm model, but the 9700k rating means it can overheat easily, which is normal for this size.

Quick check with solid anti-malware such as HitMan Pro should resolve the issue; it may take a moment for the virus to conceal itself. Organize tasks by CPU consumption in Task Manager and capture a printout when you launch it.

not running in idle mode, lol i was just in idle and i usually stay around 40 degrees. it’s not normal for it to jump up to 70, and then it shuts down and goes back to 40 when i open task manager.

thermal paste needs to be of high quality, such as windows defender; otherwise, consider a complete reinstall.

I’m also unsure what it is, but my Windows Defender is disabled and I never activated it, and I can’t turn it back on. I’ll consider buying HitmanPro.
