CPU idle speed
Use HWInfo64 to monitor performance. On your Intel processor, after overclocking, ensure auto-voltage reduction and power-saving modes are turned off. Disabling features like Turbo Boost or EIST keeps the chip running at its highest settings.
It could be the right choice. Will it harm your CPU after 8 years instead of 10? I'm not sure. Even if you push it to its highest frequency and voltage, unless it's working hard, it won't draw much power or create a lot of heat. In my view, for everyday use, keeping power saving features on might be better. Running overclocks near stability limits could help by always using the CPU at full power.
