They will work for a very minor overclock and often end up running at high speeds. 😉
You're right... These coolers without heatpipes or vapor chambers need fans to spin quite fast to dissipate heat effectively. The Hyper 212 Evo would also make the machine noisier.
Although it's larger than the standard cooler for many Intel CPUs, it lacks heatpipes or vapor chambers. I can't find details about its base material or how the base connects to the fins. With this information and some missing pieces, I think this cooler isn't ideal for overclocking.

Weberdarren97 shares his thoughts on the topic.
He notes that these coolers often require high fan speeds to dissipate heat effectively, making them louder than expected. He also mentions concerns about the materials used in the base and connections, suggesting it might not be ideal for overclocking.

I own this laptop where several keys lack their stickers... I've even worn down the small protrusions on the F and J keys. Typing on this device is really bad.
I understand, replacing the keyboard would be the solution. I've had a new one for almost a month now. Not sure why I just left it there, haha.

I’d probably choose a straightforward AIO cooler such as the x31 from nzxt or the h55 from corsair. They work well for minor overclocking and will keep you at similar temperatures. Plus, they offer quieter fans and better heat dissipation capacity.
If you’re seeking a solid upgrade with reduced noise and extra comfort, this install-and-forget AIO is worth considering. I’ve used one in my brother’s APU setup for several months without any problems, so I’d recommend these entry-level models.

If you're seeking a solid upgrade with reduced noise and complexity, these entry-level AIOs are worth considering. They provide reliable performance without the hassle of managing multiple fans or complex setups.

Despite my limited exposure to the EVO, based on what I know, the h55 is much quieter than the stock Cooler, especially when compared to aftermarket models like vardar fans or noctuas. The EVO’s overall quietness is even more pronounced than the h55’s. I’m not sure what you mean by cooling capacity, since the EVO handles heat better than the h55. For context, Corsair achieves around 30.32 dBA, while the 212 EVO reaches up to 36 dBA—both are barely noticeable in a sealed environment.

Yes, I should consider swapping it in for the 212 evo soon.

Sorry for the many questions, I'm still getting used to coolers...
Here’s my setup:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Intel BXTS15A CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" SSD
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" HDD
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" HDD
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Modular ATX Power Supply
Would the Hyper 212 EVO keep temperatures stable during idle, gaming, and video rendering? If not, which cooler under $50 would be best? I’m eager to get one soon.
For temperature context, I’m in New Jersey (USA). Thanks a lot!
