CPU Cooling OC Help
Taylor Trotter shares his thoughts on choosing a simple AIO cooler such as the x31 from nzxt or the h55 from corsair. He finds them suitable for minor overclocking and notes they deliver comparable temperatures, while offering quieter fans and improved thermal capacity. He also mentions an Amazon link for the Corsair H55. If you're seeking a reliable upgrade with reduced noise and hassle, he recommends these entry-level AIOs.
But if the intel cooler is already installed, you don't necessarily have to replace it. It might not affect your setup, though removing the motherboard can be tricky.
I wouldn't choose the stock cooler for OCing, the 212 EVO works well, and at the same price point the Cryorig H7 is also excellent.
I share the same view as Tradesman1, but I suggest the 212 Evo. By the way, Tradesman1, do you recognize the ROG logo? Are you an Asus representative?
Not if you intend to overclock by more than one or two percent... I get the feeling that you'd overheat as soon as you had to change the voltage if you use the Intel cooler.
