I own an i7-12700k with two fans and am considering upgrading to a three-fan setup. Is that advisable? For monitoring temperatures, programs like HWMonitor or Core Temp are reliable choices. Your current readings during gaming hover in the low 60s to high 70s, but occasional spikes to 100 are normal—especially in games like Battlefield 2042 where temps can climb into the 80s. HWinfo works well for reading temperatures and other sensors. Your readings aren’t too low for a dual fan AIO. I’m not sure a three-fan setup will change unless your AIO is a budget model. The main issue with temperatures is that they rely heavily on airflow inside your case. During Rocket League, my CPU hit mid-60s despite having a solid front case. I spent weeks optimizing airflow direction—moving it from bottom to top. With the same AIO, I managed to bring my CPU temps down to 48–55°C, which is a big improvement. For better guidance, consider sharing more details or photos. Also, fixing lower temperatures might require some investment.
I’d aim for performance without throttling. Arctic cooling Liquid Freezer II 280, 360, or 420 works well. Available in A-RGB if you prefer. The best AIO on the market seems solid—no USB control needed, pump adjusts with PWM fan speed, and no extra fan software required. Just connect via motherboard or your preferred app.
