Hey everyone, I have an AMD x4 860k and was thinking about overclocking it. I’m wondering if the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 would work with my motherboard: GIGABYTE F2A68HM-H A68H FM2+. Any other cooler suggestions would be really helpful!

Yes, it will work fine. The cooler sockets for FM2 and FM2+ are identical. Just to clarify, my motherboard has a peculiar clip system (new to PC building, sorry).

Yes, it will function properly
The cooler sockets for FM2 and FM2+ are identical
The back of my motherboard is getting extremely hot to the touch. (Exact temperatures unknown) Is this typical?
It tends to heat up when my CPU is under stress.

Mypriv1 shared their experience confirming compatibility. The cooler sockets for FM2 and FM2+ match, and the motherboard's back temperature is unusually high. They suggest checking the specs and monitoring temperatures.

Download speccy and verify your temperatures

My CPU is currently 94 degrees. I just finished a GPU benchmark... Please be safe.
😉
(Update. Speccy appears to be unreliable... temperatures were much higher than reported)
