Hello everyone
I'm exploring options for a pre-built gaming PC with a GPU. I've noticed that many PCs use a CPU without integrated graphics, though it seems AMD might be the exception and Intel uses the F suffix. Is this a good idea? Should I prioritize a model with built-in graphics just in case the GPU fails? Also, I've heard mixed opinions about whether 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs are still viable—should I steer clear of them or consider a 12th generation instead?

I tend to go for processors with an iGPU since that part comes in very very handy when troubleshooting display related issues(especially discrete GPU related issues).
ALSO I've read iffy things about 13th and 14th gen intel CPUs is this really an issue and to avoid them and get a 12th gen or is this just media overreaction.
No, you might want to bring yourself up to speed with the processor degradation and firmware issue for both 13th and 14th Gen Intel processors.

^ to list one out of many you can find off of YT, not just one channel/reporting.
Just an FYI, you can't really have a question without a question mark. Without which it's just a sentence...just saying.

As mentioned before: possessing an iGPU is beneficial if you want to troubleshoot any GPU problems. It's not a necessity that excludes you from having one.

The additional $30 or so for integrated graphics is negligible compared to the overall cost of a PC. You also have the Quick sync feature available at the provided link. It once prevented a PSU failure. I used integrated graphics because my discrete graphics card wasn’t powerful enough, and it performed adequately even for some slower games. Regarding the 13/14th generation issues, the video shared is from a year ago. Here are the more recent updates: an official Intel statement from September 2025 and the latest microcode update from May 1, 2025. If you purchase a 13/14th generation processor from an authorized seller, you’re protected by an extended warranty. I wouldn’t buy used items as they might be damaged.

I wouldn't create or purchase a system without the integrated graphics, unless you have an extra GPU available for troubleshooting.

Thanks for all the assistance. It essentially validates my own ideas. Regarding the way to ask the link, I get what you're saying, but it's a bit excessive when I'm just seeking simple summaries.

To provide an accurate response, understanding the complete scenario is essential. Budget, primary applications, and the existing framework are important for context.
