Hello everyone!
I’m facing an issue and would appreciate your assistance.
I’m experiencing FPS drops from 120-80 to 30-40 across various games.
I’m running on:
CPU: xeon e3 1240 v2
GPU: msi ventus xs oc gtx 1660
RAM: 16gb
Could you advise me on the next steps?
I recently purchased the GTX 1660 and am encountering similar problems in different games.
For example, in Assassin's Creed Odyssey I get 50-60fps on high settings, but during gameplay my FPS suddenly drops to 28 to 30.
Similarly, in Escape from Tarkov when I increase my Y textures to high, everything else is low or off. My CPU usage drops to 20-30% and the GPU usage is between 80-95%.
I’m unable to resolve this issue, as it’s similar in Hyperscape.
However, in PUGBG I have 80 fps on high settings but the problem persists. My FPS suddenly drops to 30 then rises back to 70-80.
Could you help identify the real cause here?
My GPU doesn’t seem compatible or my CPU is struggling.
Also, I was using MSI Afterburner for FPS tracking.

A Xeon from the Ivy Bridge period cannot exceed its i7-2600K counterpart, and any 4c/8t processor will likely run at or near full capacity, possibly struggling to maintain high frame rates during intense multiplayer scenarios with numerous opponents to process. (This assumes your GPU drivers and chipset drivers are current, and there’s no indication of CPU throttling, which should keep the clock speed around 3.4 GHz under stress)

Temperatures remain acceptable during full operation
CPU operates at 76°C
GPU functions within 70-75°C range
