CPU bottleneck ?
CPU bottleneck ?
Hey guys, I’ve had problems over the last two week with the BF6 Open beta. I'm getting a CPU bottleneck and for the life of me I cannot figure it out.
I load up battlefield 6 Open beta and everything is fine but then I load into a conquest game and and my cpu just dies, I turned on the overlay and It says my cpu is doing 42/23.8 and that varies it goes lower and then up but never higher. It’s causing bad fps, it’s also causing me to ice skate etc. I’ve enabled Dcop, Ive checked for a thermal throttle but my temps are fine, the only thing I can think of is my ram isn’t fast/big enough. One of my friends has the same CPU as me. But I excel in almost ever other aspect (Hardware) he can run the game fine and has no issues. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! You didn't specify the make and model of your PSU, nor did you mention the age of your unit. Could you provide those details? Also, please clarify about the issue with your CPU—what exactly happened? And let me know what other information you have about your system.
Sorry mate, didn’t realise how much I left out.
The mother board is an ASUS ROG Strix b550-F Gaming WIFI II – I’m not sure what BIOS version I have, and I’m not home to check right now. It looks like it’s fairly recent.
My PSU is a solid 12 M 850 W.
I’ve tried other games and they work well. I even played Cyberpunk at maximum settings without issues. It seems to be Battlefield 6.
All my hardware is around 1.5 years old since I bought everything together.
I’m not sure about my friends’ specs fully. I think he’s running a NVida 2070 Super, but I’m not entirely sure – sorry!
I have a photo of my CPU showing what it’s doing, but I can’t find a place to put it. The best description is that I’m experiencing lag and constantly feel like I’m rubber banding. I’ve run speed tests on my Wi-Fi, which are fine. I also use an Ethernet cable. But again, I live in the same house as my friend, and his game runs just fine. If you need more details, please let me know. Thank you for your time.
Check your sig space for the links—I have a tutorial on posting images there.
Battlefield 6 beta concludes this evening. The release is expected around October. Solving the issue might remain challenging until then, especially if it's the sole game featuring it.
While I wouldn't expect great performance from that CPU it does seem low. It'd be worth checking to see what the overall CPU usage looks like in the game along with clock speeds. There is some overhead in nvidia drivers which will cause some performance loss, but I'd still expect >60 FPS on that CPU.
It wouldn't hurt to check memory usage too since if there's enough out of game usage 16GB might not be enough (also ensure the memory is running the correct speed).
