Currently I have HyperX Fury 8gb 2133
So If I buy 2400 2x8 sticks will i be able to use 2400 or only 2133 speed? Planning to go with HyperX Fury 2x8 2400
Your motherboard apparently supports only 2133 speed.
The 2400 ram you want to buy will work since it will default to 2133.
Not a big deal, you will not be able to tell the difference in actual performance or fps.
That's a really good question and a common concern! Here’s the breakdown of whether you can use the 2666MHz profile with your XPG D30 memory:
**The short answer is: Probably not, but it *might* work.**
Here’s why:
* **XPG D30 Specifications:** The XPG D30 (as of my last update) comes in configurations that often ship with a lower base clock speed, typically around 3200MHz or 3600MHz. While they *can* support higher speeds like 2666MHz, it's not the primary design focus for those kits.
* **BIOS Support:** Your Asrock B150m Pro4/Hyper motherboard needs to have a BIOS that fully supports the XPG D30’s speed profile. Older or less-updated BIOS versions might only recognize and allow you to select speeds close to the memory's rated speed (3200MHz or 3600 MHz).
* **XMP Profiles:** Even if your BIOS *does* support 2666MHz, it’s likely that the XPG D30 sticks aren’t optimized for that specific speed. Using an XMP profile (which is how you'd select 2666MHz) might cause instability or errors.
I think you can to some extent.

Note4: The O.C. mode is not guaranteed. It depends on whole system configuration and other parameters.
Do not chase high ram speeds.

The last page shows an overall benefit of 3000 speed ram to be 0.25% better
I'm not going for high speeds.. The only available sticks within my budget are these.. HyperX Fury are unavailable since long time and are also bit expensive than these with lower speeds. That's why buying the XPG 2666 sticks
