Hi everyone When I play Mafia 3 my gpu and cpu both only hit about 70% usage each which is fine most of the time because I get 60 fps but when it dips down to 35 fps i can really feel the difference but my gpu and cpu usage only hover at about 70%. I believe my 1600 mghz ram is causing a bottleneck. Can anyone give some advice on how to boost cpu usage and achieve higher minimum fps? I tried overclocking my 3770k but didn’t see any improvement. Should I upgrade to new 2400 mhz ram or will I need a new cpu as well?

My build:
I7 3770K @ 4.2 GHZ
GTX 1080
16 gb 1600 mhz memory
gigabyte z77-ud3h motherboard
intel 120 gb ssd
1tb HDD 7200 rpm HDD
MSI Afterburner Hardware monitor: At lowest FPS point.
D3D11: 38 FPS
GPU usage: 72%
Total CPU Usage: 66%
CPU 1 Usage: 86%
CPU 2 Usage: 53%
CPU 3 Usage: 67%
CPU 4 Usage: 68%
CPU 5 Usage: 64%
CPU 6 Usage: 57%
CPU 7 Usage: 60%
CPU 8 Usage: 75%
Ram usage: 8593 mb

The 70% number, are all the cores operating at full capacity continuously? It's really challenging to achieve a 4c/8t CPU running at 100% under typical conditions. For example, on this laptop I own a dual-core processor with hyperthreading. When one core is fully utilized, it displays only 25% performance.

Check if the power supply has performance mode active on both Windows and BIOS, especially with your premium 850W 80 Plus Gold certified PSU.

Do you need to turn on performance mode in both Windows and BIOS, or should I disable it?

Turn on performance mode. Occasionally Windows power-saving features affect gaming speed. BIOS settings can also have a similar impact.

Does it function similarly in other titles or performance tests? From what I recall, Mafia 3 had a poor port, possibly due to limitations in using its available resources. I strongly believe increased memory speed won't significantly improve the experience.

Does it work in other titles or tests? From what I recall, Mafia 3 had a poor port, possibly due to the game not fully using its available resources. I’m very skeptical that more RAM would fix this. This issue also occurs in Tomb Raider Assassins Creed and Deus Ex, mainly in more recent releases.
