CPU and DRAM indicators illuminated on MOBO – Some components swapped, no modifications made.
My computer functioned well for nearly two years, but now the DRAM and CPU indicators are bright red on the motherboard, and no signal reaches the screen. Initially, I changed the CMOS battery, but it had no effect. I then bought a new motherboard and CPU, assuming one of those components was faulty, but after swapping both, the problem persisted. The same red lights remain every time I power on the PC. I've rebuilt the system multiple times, carefully checking the CPU and socket, yet nothing seems amiss. The GPU remains untouched, but the lights stay lit even when it's uninstalled. I suspect the issue might be elsewhere, possibly with the VGA connection or another component. I'm unsure how to proceed.
Have you checked using another PSU? Have you attempted a build without the case? Unplug all external accessories: USB connectors, power/restart switches, front-panel audio inputs. If it starts working without them, reintroduce each one individually until you locate the faulty component.
I swapped out the power supply entirely, yet I haven’t run a bench test. I assumed USB connections or other components weren’t the issue, but I’ll check that later. Appreciate your response.
I ran the test bench and the DRAM and CPU indicators stayed on for about ten seconds before switching to VGA and BOOT lights. After connecting my boot drive and linking my GPU to a monitor, it successfully booted into Windows. I tested everything step by step in the case, checking each cable multiple times, but still couldn't pinpoint the problem.
