I'm assembling a budget gaming setup and need to decide between the Ryzen 5 5000 series and the 3000 series. Both offer good value, but I should check if compatible components exist for both options so I can get the most performance for my money.

If you have time to wait, the 5000 series will offer much better performance for gaming at the same cost. (even when limited by GPU power, though not a noticeable difference) If you need it sooner, a 3600 provides the best value and won’t strain your wallet too much.
