Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will temporarily pause gameplay for five seconds at the beginning of each round.
I encountered a frustrating issue recently, which is specifically limited to Counter-Strike. During competitive matches, my game frequently freezes for approximately five seconds, repeating this pattern several times per round. My system specifications include an i7-6700k processor and an EVGA 1070 FTW graphics card, running at a 16:9 widescreen resolution of 1920x1080. I’m uncertain about the cause of this problem, despite removing and reinstalling the game and updating my graphics drivers to their latest versions – neither action has resolved it.
My Counter-Strike video settings are as follows:
Global Shadow Quality: Medium
Model/Texture Quality: Medium
Effect and Shader Detail: High
Multicore Rendering: Enabled
Multisampling Anti-A Mode: 4X MSAA
FXAA Antialiasing: Disabled
Texture Filtering Mode: Anisotropic 16X
Wait for Vertical Sync: Disabled
Motion Blur: Disabled
I have also attached a video recording demonstrating the issue, captured using Shadowplay after a match. The footage suggests that I am consistently moving to the left, but my screen displays a complete freeze during those moments.
