Hello, my child requires a computer for playing video games. The allocated spending limit is approximately £1400. I’m entirely unfamiliar with this area and wish to avoid being persuaded into a purchase that lacks value.

Would any members here be able to suggest a gaming PC within this price range? Or, if you were allocating £1400 to build a system, what components would you select?

Thank you in advance.

Should you favor ready-made solutions, consider this:

Considering you’re located in the United Kingdom, I suggest PCSpecialist from Wakefield; they create bespoke systems tailored to your needs. They’re trustworthy and offer genuine guidance without pushing unnecessary products.

To help determine the best choice, inquire about your son’s gaming preferences – does he enjoy large-scale titles? If he intends to use it for streaming video (like Netflix), then an IPS display would be beneficial.

PS: Avoid retailers like Currys or PC World – they tend to charge excessive prices and frequently lack sufficient expertise.

PPS: As tmwoodard64 indicated, Cyberpower also produces quality PCs, along with https://www.chillblast.com/.
