I've been considering this for a while, but is there an error? Many people say Xeon CPUs are meant for servers. I watched a Linux video and still can't be sure. Are they still suitable for modern games and future titles? The GTX980ti with Xeon E3-1230 v3—are the Xeon cores really slow? I'm not keen on going with the 1151 because I'd need to upgrade RAM or storage later, and honestly I don't feel like it.

It's acceptable for the 9000000th occurrence. How many additional repetitions would you like? It's perfectly fine.

the main drawback of an xeon is its lack of overclocking capability, similar to a fixed cpu; however, certain models offer better performance compared to some i7 or i5 chips, such as the Xeon 1231 V3.

Absolutely, it performs similarly to all other Haswell cores, only marginally lower.

I believe there are methods to modify content... but I can't recall the names.

Overclocking BCLK isn't advised, it could cause issues.

It's simply a lower clocked i7 with a few additional options unless you're running it as a workstation.

Sure, I'll use it for gaming, probably on a GTX980. ;P
