It seems you're trying to understand how Samsung Magician works. You asked whether you should create a bootable CD/DVD or use a USB drive with BIOS access, and you want confirmation about erasing an SSD while inside the system. Based on typical procedures, you can usually install Windows normally after securing the device, but erasing an SSD directly from within the system isn't standard practice. Let me know if you'd like more details!

You can't wipe the SSD while it's running. It's better to create a USB image with your preferred Windows version and install it onto the SSD, making sure to disconnect any other drives so: A) You avoid losing unwanted data. B) The bootloader remains intact on other storage devices.

You already have an operating system installed on the SSD. You need to wipe the SSD before formatting it. Use a bootable USB to perform the erasure process.

Connect via USB, launch the installation assistant, select a custom setup, you'll be prompted for your preferred Windows installation location. On the interface, you'll find an option to prepare the storage device by formatting it.

I can place it on top of the SSD while the OS is already installed. It should not overwrite the data. I believe I did it correctly, thank you. The SSD is now back to 25GB.
