I chose to try this game by chance and found out you need at least $30 to play (and you can spend as much as $15K). Will the system switch to fully peer-to-peer once it launches officially? I’m curious about the game itself and how smoothly I can operate it.

Check the Star Citizen update before criticizing it—late is too late.

I don't really care about No Man's Sky much these days, I'm happy to spend my money on games I enjoy.

Don't compare Star Citizen to that; I still want some solid strategies for the game.

It developed its own community after a discussion hit a high reply count (currently around 65k). Unfortunately, that format discouraged conversation. The costs you incur are mainly for server operations after launch, unlike most MMOs which charge a one-time fee. You can also purchase the cheapest ship and then rent a more expensive one using in-game earnings from gameplay.
