Hello,
I've been trying to figure out what's going wrong with my PC. Recently, I upgraded to a new system and only transferred the Zotac AMP Extreme 1080 from my previous setup. Now, I'm experiencing problems such as crashes during multiple games or black screens when the game audio plays. On other titles, I don't see any consistent issues except around certain time periods. I keep monitoring temperatures while gaming, but they remain stable. I also verify all drivers—GPU, CPU, etc.—to ensure everything is up to date before starting a session.
Here’s a list of games that have caused crashes:
- Destiny 2 – I encounter the "Brocolli error code." Despite having updated drivers, the issue persists; crashes happen after about 5–10 minutes of play.
- Hunt Showdown – I usually get less than 5 minutes into a match and the screen goes black. The game runs in the background, but I can't see anything.
- Escape from Tarkov – Until recently, I didn’t face problems, but now I freeze after about 5 minutes of a raid. The screen either shows a loading screen or crashes without loading anything.
- Resident Evil Village – The game freezes after around 5 minutes, and the screen remains black. I can still hear, move, and shoot, but I can't see anything.
I’ve checked my graphics drivers, CPU, and other components to make sure they’re all current.
My PC specifications are:
Phanteks Evolv Shift Air 2
Silverstone SX750 Platinum
B550i Aorus Pro AX
Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 – 120
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core 3.70 GHz
32GB RAM HyperX
ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 1080 AMP Extreme
Windows 10 Home 64bit
1TB SSD
External Storage: 2TB HDD (two copies)
I’ve attached a link to the Thermals screenshot for reference:

Could you verify the BIOS version on your motherboard at this moment? It’s recommended to be on version 20H2 for Windows 10. Have you attempted using DDU to remove your current GPU drivers and then reinstalling them from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator?
You referenced five games in the discussion above. Are there additional issues with other titles? Where did you obtain these games?
By the way, the Zotac AMP range cards were among the poorest on the market due to inadequate cooling assembly across the entire PCB. Although they had a powerful cooler, the power regulators were mediocre and the cooling performance was poor. Some models lacked airflow while others experienced sagging on the board.
Well, all the games are available on Steam except for Tarkov which has its own launcher.
I once found a link to another forum with videos and images attached.
I think it's F13g and it was recently updated.
I've noted five games that have caused problems. I can also add Call of Duty Black Ops 3 to the list of crashing titles. It usually runs for about 5-10 minutes before the screen goes black. The other games I don't have issues with are City Skylines, SimCity, Endzone, Elite Dangerous, Gears 5, Stellaris, and surprisingly Star Citizen.
I've uninstalled my GPU drivers and reinstalled them using Nvidia GeForce Experience, but not DDU. Isn't DDU just a last resort?
I've shared the videos and I can provide screenshots of thermals from several games if needed.
I'm planning to upgrade to a GTX 3080, as many people do, but with the current GPU market it wasn't really an option, so I ended up using the card from my old system.
I used DDU to remove and reinstall my drivers, but the problem persists. The freeze in RE:Village is still present. There are still missing sound effects and other issues, so it remains unresolved. I'm not sure if it's driver-related after a clean install.
The problem has been resolved. We determined that my GPU is starting to fail.
