Could the system experience any harm?

Hello, it's a nice day here. I had a pretty simple mistake I made recently that I didn't really notice at the time. I turned off my PC without unplugging it or changing the PSU settings. Then I removed the 24-pin connector from both the PSU and the motherboard, trying to reroute it elsewhere. Everything worked fine—no sparks, and the PC started up normally. After thinking about it, I realized the motherboard might still have power if the PSU wasn't fully turned off. Could this have caused any long-term damage? Or was there something else I missed? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I’m not very familiar with this situation, but based on what I’ve heard, any signs of damage should have been obvious by now.

It's highly improbable, though not impossible. I'm not familiar with anything similar before. Everything seems safe so far.

If it functions, it's okay. However, always disconnect the PSU or switch off its power, then press the PC power button several times to discharge the capacitors before you remove any components.
