Mostly no VRM lists exist for Intel chips. Many 1700LGA boards are too underpowered for high-end CPUs like the 13600K. There are still options outside the Z-series that can support such processors, especially budget models. Look for cheaper builds without Z chipsets to find more affordable solutions.

There are multiple options available. The MSI Pro B660M-A is an affordable choice that Hardware Unboxed suggests—typically around $130. A video from their B660 VRM testing series provides a comparison chart, listing various boards ranked by VRM performance and including R23 scores to help you evaluate throttling capabilities.

Asus boards with 77 and above generally perform well, especially in Cinebench scores. Most models meeting this threshold are solid choices.

@YoungBlade another point: the MSI PRO B660M-A WIFI DDR4 lacks a BIOS flash. If it doesn’t have the correct BIOS, would someone require a 12th generation CPU to make updates?

The best options are the most appealing ones that avoid forcing the chip to update its BIOS. I'm not sure if a 13th-gen system can run with a 12th-gen BIOS.

Maybe the weakness of B660 boards lies in the lack of a bios flash feature.

It depends on the board's creation date. From the manufacturer, it should include the most recent BIOS, but older stock may not have this. If you purchase from a store or shop nearby, they usually can install the latest BIOS—sometimes even for free if you buy it directly; otherwise, there might be a small charge.

They assumed those boards lack BIOS flashback, but I’m more familiar with AMD and many budget B650 models include it. Damn Intel! Perhaps starting with a $20 used Celeron 6900 could be the easiest fix.
