I am using the latest version of macOS sierra. And this afternoon I was downloading some torrent files, move them in and out of the trash frequently. Then there is one .torrent file I was unable to delete after I put it on my desktop. Here is the error message. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Is your torrent client active? Has it been saved to your torrent client/file? If not, please proceed with Windows.

I just ended the torrent client. It won’t let me delete it. And no more responses from Windows, please.

Open the torrent client and halt all active downloads completely. Restart your computer or simply log out, log back in, and attempt to remove them again. If this fails, locate the torrent you wish to delete in your client, right-click it and choose "Delete Torrent with All Associated Files." Close the client and try deleting the file once more. Which torrent client are you using? Bittorrent, uTorrent, Deluge, or another? I suggest Deluge. It appears to consume more bandwidth, which can speed up the overall download process.
