Could improper water flow damage the motherboard connections?
I had cleaned the main unit some time ago. When setting up the water-cooling head, I mistakenly placed one of the springs on the head out of place and then tightened the screw. This caused the water-cooling head to not align properly with the CPU, applying uneven pressure. Consequently, the computer failed to power on, and the self-test did not succeed. The card memory debug light also didn’t work. Later, I reinstalled it and everything functioned correctly after a week. I’m just concerned that the misalignment might have damaged the motherboard pins. PS: I cleaned the CPU body but left it untouched. It remained in the motherboard CPU base. After a week, everything was fine. I’m worried about possible deformation of the pins from the previous stress. It took nearly half an hour to figure it out. The issue turned out to be a misplaced spring. Once fixed, just reinstalling it resolved the problem. Will the motherboard or its pins be affected?
Technically, the "pins" function more like a spring that shifts under pressure. This explains why inconsistent, excessive, or insufficient force leads to unusual errors as the pin misaligns with the CPU pads. At the same time, it gives them resistance against uneven pressure, helping prevent damage.
