Hey everyone, I bought the MSI MPG x570 Gaming Edge Wifi board a few days ago. It came with built-in Wi-Fi and was pretty affordable, but I think it was a bit of a rush to get it. I’m hoping my setup will hold up for a while, but I’ve heard the Gaming Plus model often struggles with high VRM temps. I’m curious if I made a wrong choice by picking this board. I plan to use 32GB RAM, an R5 5600X that probably won’t be overclocked, and a Noctua H15 cooler. My main goal is durability, so I’m looking for a cleaner look—white or black—but I still want something reasonably affordable. If this board is problematic, I’d appreciate advice on similar options or alternatives that cost a bit more. I’m open to stretching the budget if this one isn’t worth it. Since I’m in the EU, I can return it anytime without shipping fees, though the price seems to have jumped about 10% recently.
I'm just a bit worried because I want this PC to last me several years, similar to my current setup. If the slight price increase for the motherboard is justified, I'm open to returning. The naming system used by MSI—MPG, MEG, MXG, MSG, NaCl, etc.—is really confusing. I'm unsure whether problems with a board that shares the same name affect my one. From what I understand, the board should still perform well enough for overclocking if needed. My main concern is overheating; I know heat damages electronics, and I'm not sure if this issue lies with the motherboard itself.
