Hey there, this could be a simple issue. Is there an easy method to reduce the bass using software? I recall in the past, Realtek on older computers had an EQ feature that let you adjust the bass level, but it’s no longer available. I’ve searched online again without success and have to rely on some workarounds, like placing a sock inside the subwoofer. If you need a straightforward solution, let me know! Thanks, and don’t worry about sounding silly.

The only equalizer I’m familiar with comes in a Razer Surround Pro package, costing around $20. It’s not the only option—there might be better or free alternatives—but I don’t remember any other good choices at the moment.

Navigate to 'Sound' > right-click speakers > properties > levels > balance. Alternatively, experiment with adjustments; it's hard to say what will be most effective.

It's a good question, Mr. Yorkshire. RealTek likely has its own EQ, but sourceforge.net could be a great spot to find an EQ app.

With a Realtek sound card, the included driver should feature an equalizer. It performs reasonably well unless you demand top-tier audio quality.

I checked out Synapse 2.0 since I own a Kraken, and it appears the EQ functions well with headphones, though not with speakers. Thanks for the info!

Mr. Manchester, I’ve checked SourceForge too—it seems quite promising. I’ll dive into some of the apps tomorrow; they might help fix the bass issue.

Sure, I'm fetching their drivers again now, it seems the servers are taking a long time to respond.
