Hello, your setup is quite advanced for a Gigabyte X670. With your current configuration and adding a PCIe 4.0 SSD to the M2A_CPU slot, there’s no risk of a bottleneck since you already have 28 lanes available. Moving the SSD to the M2C_SB slot would still utilize the full 28 lanes without any issue. You can proceed confidently with your plans.

Even when sharing PCIe lanes, a significant slowdown only occurs if both devices continuously demand most of their bandwidth. Modern GPUs function well with reduced speeds, and NVMe storage is constrained by flash capacity rather than PCIe rates—unless they're doing continuous reads/writes, which is uncommon for typical users. This scenario rarely arises, so you don’t need to worry about limiting your PCIe performance. ETA: in your motherboard’s design, certain slots and M.2 ports can operate together without problems, and bandwidth issues are unlikely.

You have sufficient lanes. 16 available for GPU, 4 per M.2, plus the final 4 for the chipset.
