Could a future MMOFPS match the quality of Planetside 2?
This dude sums up so many of my feelings about my favorite FPS since Halo CE days. I've been playing since 2015 and nothing since has been able to draw me away. Fortnite and PUBG seemed cool at first and I thought that might be something new with the massive scale maps, but for the losing side there's no continuous flow of combat with no ability to respawn (nano-reconstruction technology) and those games create only one winner with many losers. I remember back then I was looking for shooters that could replace Halo Combat Evolved. I went through World of Tanks, Tribes Ascend, TF2, Counter Strike and then I found this video: Looing back at some of his criticisms I notice that this game has come a long way. Especially in terms of how much easier it is to earn cert points and the alert system. I knew I had to try and I have never regretted it. I've made so many friends from just hopping into vehicles to shoot their top guns or filling their player-made-base sillohs with cortium. A game that creates relationships beyond the game world is such a wonderful thing. He said it himself "Planetside 2 proves that a MMOFPS can be legitimate and worthy"- Angy Joe. My only question is that will I ever see a game that competes in this niche? It's like anything but PS3, PS/PS2 re-master would ever compete to encourage further development which is still going on, but has never been as quick as people would like.
PS2 is awesome. I want a Game like that in the SW Universe with Frostbite Engine.
