Ah, but that isn't the actual guide! It's just the introduction. Honestly, my first thought was to write brief reviews of several sticks I've tried. But each time I begin talking about one, I realize I need to cover 6DOF, then compare atmospheric flight with space flight, discuss pots versus hall sensors, and mention various spring types, and so on. So yeah... a guide to follow.

They are ideal for creating a strong impression, that's what I think.

Oh no, that's intense! I'm glad you're using the mouse and keyboard too. It's working well for you right now, but I won't use a joystick until I understand your instructions better.

I mainly rely on HOTAS but have tried HOTAM once. I usually don’t match speed; I prefer closing and easing back gradually when needed. Having the throttle ready feels helpful. My strafe, Space Break, and Counter Measures are all on the throttle, so I use the mouse for aiming. It functions quite well, though flying with a stick is more enjoyable but less precise for me.

Hey everyone from the future! Because I drafted this back in 2016, the industry has seen big changes, so I've added some updates. See you in the next chapter.
