noticed two Corsair Vengeance 16GB kits with 3600mhz CL18 chips, priced around $13 apart. The difference lies in the letters "z" and "d"—what does that indicate?

Could a 3200MHz CL16 be a more suitable option?

The D kit is valid on these systems - Intel 100, 200, 300, X299; AMD 300, 400, X570. The Z kit is valid on Intel 200, 300, X299 and AMD X570.

I'm not sure about Corsair's plans—they might update it after testing it on that platform. The D kit seems to be the broader option, while the Z kit could be better for overclocking on premium boards, though I shouldn't say for sure!

This means it was verified on that specific platform and functioned properly, but it doesn't guarantee compatibility across other systems.
